212-1260R Rev Limiting Coil Issue Identified

We’ve identified the cause of inconsistent RPM limits for the 212-1260R rev limiting coil, commonly used in the Ducar 212 stock classes. Some engines have been revving beyond 5200-5300 RPM, despite the coil’s limit.
With help from an experienced engine builder in the karting industry, it was revealed that the issue stems from using the A3910X spark plug, a popular choice in kart racing.

Solution

Switch to a traditional spark plug like the stock Ducar OEM or the A3910, both of which we’ve tested successfully with the rev limiting coil.
While the spark plug is a non-tech item in Ducar 212 rules, using the A3910X may result in a post-race RPM disqualification.
