Why does DynoCams have so many different 10.8lb valve Springs?

At DynoCams we always try to meet the needs of you, our valued customer. The variety of 10.8lb springs we carry is to meet those needs, and in this article we are going to explain the differences in each spring.

1. DCS-BSH is our standard green stripe spring. This is by far our most popular spring and is the choice of many racers and engine builders due to its ease of use. It usually runs about .2 to .4lb over the max and takes very little work to install legally.

The average:

• 11.0 lbs @ .850"

• 18.4 lbs @ .650"

2. DCS-BSH-EB is our yellow stripe spring and is the choice of many pro engine builders due to its longevity. This spring lasts longer than any of our other springs due to being heat stressed before being used, so that you see no load loss over the course of 8-10 races. It usually runs about .2 to .4lb over the max and takes very little work to install legally.

The average:

• 11.0 lbs @ .850"

• 18.4 lbs @ .650"

3. DCS-BSH-D is our red stripe spring and is the choice of the engine builder who wants to customize his spring pressure. It usually runs about 1.2 to 1.6lb over the max and takes a considerable amount of work to install legally.

The average:

• 12.0 lbs @ .850"

• 19.6 lbs @ .650"

4. DCS-BSH-M is the preset version of our green stripe spring. Many racers do not have a certified spring weight tester, so we preset this spring to ensure its legality for the AKRA/NKA/WKA rules. This spring is on or slightly below the max 10.8/18.0lb mark.

The average:

• 10.8 lbs @ .850"

• 18.0 lbs @ .650"
